SSC: Realizing the dream is nothing more than a delusional disorder
We shall overcome.
We shall overcome some day.
Deep in my heart I do believe
we shall overcome some day.
Thousands, shyt maybe millions, of people will fill the streets today and tomorrow, join hands, sing in unison, cry tears of joy, and truly believe deep in their hearts that not only that we shall overcome but for the most part we have.
We are Americans! We are bred to believe in the American Dream! The great Pie in the sky! The Ladder to success is the result of hard work and determination. Own a piece of America!
And on the eve of this national holiday of the great Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., mindlessly we will resurrect the dead in order to celebrate under the banner of Living in the Reality of the Dream or the banner of the Dream is finally within reach.
Shyt, even Folk has fallen prey to this delusion as this rant is a direct result of attempting to wake from the delusional state.
It is easy to believe that the Dream has or nearly have come true for our society. The inauguration of President Barack Obama lead to journalist proclaiming that this is indeed the proof that racism in America is no longer.
The very fact there was a proclamation proved that racism was and is alive and well. Further proof can be found in the simple fact that the “One drop rule” has been applied to what many proclaim as the most powerful man in the world by alienating 50% of his heritage and proclaiming that the President is indeed classified as “black” ejecting his Caucasian heritage as if it was some unworthy badge of honor or a flea on the back of a great blue ribbon dog.
Folk is sure that the “Dreamer” would not have been pleased with the world embracing this event as a finish line to celebrate the the overcoming of a racial divide, but rather consider it a sign that we have finally begun the race to overcoming our delusional disorder dream that everything is or going to be alright.
Look around. See the reality of how minorities and the poor are suffering in this great land of ours for the profits of those who see only the color of money and not the blood of humanity in the streets nor the nightmares of children sleeping hungrily in unheated homes or under freeways and bypasses.
Our great country who can put people in space spits in the face of it’s poor daily. Raiding the cupboards of other nations in the name of “national security” while the souls of the poor wax weary upon tears of fate. A reality that has been proven statistically that one can more easily climb the social economic ladder in Germany than that of the “Great” United States.
Ask the millions of families and friends of those killed and murdered in the name of “national security” if America has reached the pinnacle of “The Dreamer’s” true dream of racial equality and world peace? Ask the children in public schools that cannot read the words of the speech “I have a dream” how they feel about the reality of equal justice for all in this great land of equality.
“The ultimate weakness of violence is that it is a descending spiral, begetting the very thing it seeks to destroy. Instead of diminishing evil, it multiplies it. Through violence you may murder the liar, but you cannot murder the lie, nor establish the truth. Through violence you may murder the hater, but you do not murder hate. There is little hope for us until we become toughminded enough to break loose from the shackles of prejudice, half-truths, and downright ignorance.
…we refuse to believe that the bank of justice is bankrupt. We refuse to believe that there are insufficient funds in the great vaults of opportunity of this nation.
If a city has a 30% Negro population, then it is logical to assume that Negroes should have at least 30% of the jobs in any particular company, and jobs in all categories rather than only in menial areas.
Where do we go from here? First, we must massively assert our dignity and worth. We must stand up amidst a system that still oppresses us and develop an unassailable and majestic sense of values. As long as the mind is enslaved, the body can never be free. Psychological freedom, a firm sense of self-esteem, is the most powerful weapon against the long night of physical slavery.”
quotes from various great speeches of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
Great words that have long waxed cold within the soul of a generation distracted by sparkly trinkets and flashing technological lights.
Capitalistic dreams are fed upon us from the very corporations that rely on our willing contributions to their monopolistic bullshyt that we have become addicted to both willingly and unwillingly. Forgetting equality is gained through quality unbiased education and not statistical “Median” numbers that are skewed by the few giving “hope” to the many.
But what’s the point of all this? Why now? Why the fvck should you give a d@mned?
Medically cases of delusional disorder are rare. But what about socially? When an entire society falls prey to a delusional disorder that quietly destroys the ideas, dreams, and hopes that the very foundations that society is built, the question that begs to be answered is what is the proper treatment to ensure a full recovery? Another song?
Folk thinks not.
You don’t have to like what Folk has said but Facebook this shyt; twitter; spread the word. The beginning of healing is admitting first that we have a problem that needs healing. Do what you do in the comments. Open thread: #The Dream or the current living nightmare of millions.
Disclaimer: How many times we must remind y’all Folk is crazy as hayle and does not represent the feelings, beliefs, nor the opinions of anyone up in this bytch!
