don’t look to the voices from the fog

Gentle whispers from the past sometimes awaken to cause duress
twisted memories in verbal diaries from pages turned their voices confess

quick glances over shoulders to see what is not to be seen
past lifetimes in history these glances can catch one unaware in between

silent siren songs emit from the fog of memories recent and long past
forgotten moments lure for attention, your soul to torture they haunt and grasp

but the strong in mind marches on through the thick clouds of days long gone
in hopes of today and the possibilities of tomorrow your heart lives long

the sun of dreams without the past shines bright in tomorrow’s warm glow
but the days from yesterday darkens and begs to steal and destroy possibilities’ show

so it is life that these voices from yesteryear will occasionally forever arrive
to interrupt the progress and the momentum of current day’s stride

but these voices that haunt should also be an inspiration
that life goes on despite past voices weird and sometimes twisted sensations

-Folk-

Keep walking, keep striving, keep moving, keep your head up, keep doing despite what your history says. don’t look back there’s nothing but sadness to be found by dwelling on the past.

Man, Folk…you make a sista wanna pull out a pen and pad again, it’s been way too long since verse flowed out these fingertips.

I love the feeling of this piece, very heavy and forboding, but with a twinge of hope. Kinda reminds me of something that my grandmother would say to warn me from fvckin’ up.

    Lovely!

This shyt like here is why I’m a fan. I know your verse come whenever they do, with no rhyme or reason but I am just glad they do. I will be sharing this ;)
